Chitwan Sakriya Women’s Foundation (CSWF) is the first People Living with HIV (PLHIV)-led non-profit making, non-political, and community-based social organization in Chitwan District. It was established in 2006 to improve the quality of life of PLHIV through holistic approach and promote the rights of women through empowerment activities. For the past ten years, CSWF has been investing its efforts to reach its intended aim. Among other achievements, CSWF has strengthened the organizational capacity and linked with networks, coordinated and built the capacity in partnership and programming for key populations, and initiated advocacy efforts and resource mobilization.

Vision, Mission & Goal

The vision of Chitwan Sakriya Women’s Foundation (CSWF) is to create better communities and societies where all individuals, regardless of gender, have access to basic health, education, and empowerment. We aspire to a society free from stigma and discrimination, where everyone enjoys their rights and security. CSWF envisions a world where equity, equality, and justice prevail for all.

CSWF work to strengthen its role to reach the vision by following anticipated mission:

  • Limiting the spread of HIV and other epidemics like TB, Malaria and emerging communicable disease collaborating with those working with most at risk populations.

  • Support women’s right effort to use their skills and experience to help and promote women’s right (including key affected, hard to reach, disability, young aged)

  • Eliminate discrimination, harassment and violence through implementation of SHEA and Safeguarding in all sectors of society

  • Promote equity, equality and justice in the society with freed from inequalities

  • Advocating among governing authorities and state for the sustained livelihood of people in need.

  • Providing the sexual and reproductive justice to the women of the marginalized area.

  • Support to PLHAs (all child, young and adult population) for social, physical, mental and economic needs via developing linkage and advocacy of prevention, care and treatment

  • Close linkage and coordination with local bodies, civil societies, government line agencies, media, private and organized sector for effective and non-duplication intervention.

  • Promote the economic justice among target population through sustainability of the program.

  • Ensure the implementation of environment friendly services in agriculture, CSWF primary target are WLHAs and spouses of migrant labors and their immediate families. However, their services are also open to the general public many of whom drop by their office or benefit from the community outreach activities.

The goal of the Chitwan Sakriya Women’s Foundation (CSWF) is to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV (PLHIV) and to empower women in the Chitwan District. We aim to limit the spread of HIV and other communicable diseases by collaborating with high-risk populations. We are dedicated to promoting women's rights, eliminating discrimination, and fostering equity and justice in society. We support marginalized and disadvantaged groups through advocacy, resource mobilization, and comprehensive care programs. Ultimately, CSWF strives to create a community where all individuals have access to basic health, education, and rights, free from stigma and discrimination.
