About Us
Chitwan Sakriya Women’s Foundation (CSWF) is the first People Living with HIV (PLHIV)-led non-profit making, non-political and absolutely community based social organization in Chitwan District. It was established in 2006 with an aim of improving quality of life of PLHIV through holistic approach and promoting the rights of women through empowerment activities. For the past ten years, CSWF has been investing its efforts to reach its intended aim. Among other achievements, CSWF has strengthened the organizational capacity and linked with networks, co-ordinate and built the capacity in partnership and programming for key populations, and initiated advocacy efforts and resource mobilization.
The CSWF has been doing a lot in raising awareness and creating conducive environment for PLHIV and the women to sustain their life style and enhance their capacity. It has been providing comprehensive package of care for the vulnerable populations reached with HIV Prevention Programs, PLHIV, and Children Affected by HIV and AIDs (CABA) and the disadvantaged women’s group. CSWF provides continuum of care through effective referral and linkage mechanism at various level at Chitwan District. It has always come forward and been able to establish the strong linkage with government and non-government sectors to create synergies in response to HIV and AIDS, Women’s Right and the Children.
As an organization, it stands women in general, and trying to employ women (either biological or social) and preferably from the under privileged and hard to reach population group. CSWF has 27 women living with HIV(WLHIV) as general members, seven females (both youth and adult) as board of directors and 29 full time staffs (i.e. 27 female and 2 male) which include nine WLHIV, and two part time staff and 12 volunteers in the sector of Women’s Right. It has also employed a differently able staff and staff from the HIV affected family. CSWF is also mobilizing community volunteers that represent PLHIV, project beneficiaries, female community health volunteer (FCHV) and women groups. CSWF has also backed up by the local women groups in its project municipalities in Chitwan. CSWF has taken consideration of inclusive representations by ensuring GESI (Gender Equity and Social Inclusion) and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) policy while recruiting its staff and providing its services at community level.

The organization has seven board members who comprise of the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and three members and there are 25 PLHA as general members.
